THE ARBOR
Completed Q4 2024
An Exercise in Permanence
The Arbor demonstrates how hyper-dense tropical cities can nurture genuine biological diversity. Rising 38 storeys above the vibrant Orchard boulevard, the tower is cloaked in living facades that purify ambient air, lower street-level temperatures by up to 3°C, and provide private pocket gardens for every home.
Architectural Concept & Form
Utilizing hybrid structural mass engineered timber (MET) alongside recycled slag concrete, The Arbor locked in carbon from inception. Continuous perimeter planters act as natural solar shades, while spiraling sky bridges connect residents with communal meditation grottos and vertical hydroponic farms.
Form follows climatic consequence. By treating natural light, prevailing atmospheric currents, and regional materials not as peripheral considerations but as generative structural catalysts, the building achieves an innate sense of belonging.
Environmental & Regenerative Commitments
Living Bio-Façade Insulation
Plant envelopes naturally cool the perimeter skin, slashing air-conditioning requirements by 45%.
Closed-Loop Moisture Recovery
Atmospheric condensation harvested from ventilation systems generates over 12,000 litres of clean irrigation water daily.
Cross-Laminated Timber Hybrid Core
Sequesters 2,800 metric tons of carbon across the structural lifespan.
